LifePath staff will help you with payment options


Our staff can help you navigate the complexities of determining your resources and payment options. We accept the following payors. Below is a brief description of the conditions that must be considered for each pay source.

1. Private Insurance Top

  • Clients with private insurance must present their insurance card to determine benefits and eligibility.
  • All co-payments and deductibles are due on the date and time of service.
  • We encourage clients to call their insurance providers and ask about behavioral health coverage ahead of time. Request a list of in-network providers in your area. This step can save you time and money!
  • If LPS is quoted as an in-network provider, please ensure the providers are listed under the following address: 3920 Alma Drive, Plano, TX 75023 or 201 W. Lousiana Street, McKinney, TX 75069.
2. Self Pay Top
  • We also offer services on a fee-for-service basis. Our fees are generally comparable or lower than other area providers. Please ask our receptionist for a copy of our latest fee schedule.
3. No Insurance/Indigent Top
NorthSTAR Program
This is a state assistance program covering seven North Texas counties (Collin, Dallas, Rockwall, Kaufman, Ellis, Hunt and Navarro) that is available for clients without insurance who meet financial and clinical eligibility requirements. This program covers mental health and substance abuse services at participating providers. Eligibility is determined by two factors:
  1. Financial Assessment:
  2. Clinical Intake:
    • Adults must meet the diagnostic criteria for a serious mental illness as defined by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
    • Children and Adolescents may qualify for services with a broader range of diagnoses.
LifePath Systems screens for eligibility for this assistance at the initial walk-in screening. If the client appears to qualify initially for NorthSTAR services, and proof of income and residency are provided, then the financial assessment is completed. Once the financial assessment is completed, actual enrollment into NorthSTAR may take up to two or more days. After enrollment is confirmed, a clinical intake will be scheduled. An annual financial assessment update during the client’s birth month is also required for continued coverage.

4. Managed Care Medicaid Top
Medicaid clients must be linked with the NorthSTAR program to access LifePath Systems services. To determine if your Medicaid is linked to NorthSTAR, you may:
  1. Call ValueOptions NorthSTAR Customer Service Line: 1-888-800-6799
  2. If it is determine your Medicaid it is not yet linked to NorthSTAR, call Maximus: 1-800-964-2777
If the client’s Medicaid information has an address/county outside of the seven NorthSTAR designated counties (Collin, Dallas, Rockwall, Kaufman, Ellis, Hunt and Navarro), then the client must contact Medicaid at (888)902-9994, and request a change of address. Clients with an out of county address may not be seen until this step is completed unless they wish to self pay for the services. If the client needs to update their address, and also receives Social Security income, the phone number to call is (800)772-1213.


5. Traditional Medicaid Programs Top
(Type 55, Type 8, foster care, individuals in ICF-MR programs, etc.) Certain types of Medicaid are not linked with NorthSTAR. The client’s address must be in the seven NorthSTAR designated counties (Collin, Dallas, Rockwall, Kaufman, Ellis, Hunt and Navarro). Services are provided and billed directly to Medicaid. Eligibility is determined at screening.

6. Medicare Top
  • Clients with Medicare Part B coverage are responsible for 45% of all professional mental health services after their annual deductible is met.
  • Clients with Medicare Part B and Medicaid typically have coverage in the NorthSTAR area (see Medicaid section).
  • Clients with Medicare Part B and Private Insurance will have varied coverage, which will be verified through an insurance eligibility and benefits check.
7. Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Top
  • We also accept the CHIP plans available in this area of the state. You must bring in your CHIP card. All co-payment and deductibles are due at the time of service.
